The Committee members scrutinized three Bill "On Amendments to several Legislative Acts of Ukraine regarding International Adoption" (Reg. No. 2116-1)
The author Olena Bondarenko, the People´s Deputy of Ukraine declared that the Bill specifies the regulations of the Family Code of Ukraine as regards prohibition of commercial intermediation activities concerning adoption of children. The Bill also specifies the procedure of authorizing foreign organizations to conduct activities concerning adoption at the territory of Ukraine.
The Bill envisages that parental consent on adoption of a newly-born child becomes effective only when the child is two months of age.
